In spite of the fact that in the course of time producing technologies have been modernized and assortment has been innovated to a great extend, still some lighting fixtures exist which - having kept their original appearance and the way of production - have survived to the present. Cut fittings have been a traditional product of Preciosa since the 18th century. These fittings are made of blown and hand cut glass pieces of renowned crystal. The pieces are decorated with crystal lolling pendants of varied shapes and sizes in superb quality.

The motive used, and called from the very beginning the Blue onion china design, originates in the combination of various stylized floral motives of the philosophy of east Asia, fashioned to European style and approach, on the backround. The customary designation of blue onion china design has its origin in the erroneous interpretation of one of the motives, a picture of the pomegranate, which remotely resembles the outline of an onion. The name onion china represents, hovewer, a symbol of subtle beauty, a symbol of the combination of usefulness and delight of the spirit, a symbol of uniqueness and world repute. The onion china, for its specific character and design, became greatly desired family china, handed down from generation to generation. Since for long years it has been made with no changes of shape or design, and since the inglazed decoration is very durable, it is permanently possible to supply each set with missing or new traditional pieces. 010  -  Biskvit: A non-glazed body, white after firing, mat, sometimes gilded

060  -  White + print + platinum: White glazed articles, decorated with print and platinum

200  -  Pastel: The decoration is made on over-fired bodies in the same way as the Luxor decoration. The decorated articles are not glazed and decorated after the firing. This technique is mostly used for animal motifs; the human motifs are used very rarely.

210  -  Luxor: Under-glaze decoration, which is mostly used for decoration of animal motifs. The decoration is made as coats of salts of colouring oxides using brushes or spraying of under-glaze colours and subsequent drawing. The human motifs are mostly made as drawings using brushes and salts of colouring oxides and under-glaze colours.

250  -  Saxe: These articles belong to a group of on-glaze decoration. The articles are decorated with on-glaze colours using brushes. They shine thanks to bright colours and flower patterns combined with gold.

260  -  Isis: On-glaze decoration - the article is decorated with cobalt glaze. In addition to rich gilding, the on-glaze colours are used for drawing and other supplements with human motifs.

310  -  Purple: On-glaze decoration, which is made as sprayed purple on-glaze colours containing gold..

350  -  Stock black: On-glaze decoration - it is used on glazed articles using spraying of the whole surface with black, brown, grey or white colours.
